Dr. Jong graduated from medical school at the University of Toronto in 1968. He then went on and specialized in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with a subspecially in infertility at the University of Toronto, receiving his specialist certificate in 1973.

He started practicing at the Toronto Western and Toronto General hospitals in 1973. He is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto. He moved his practice to Credit Valley Hospital in 1985 and became associated with the ISIS Regional Fertility Centre in 2002. Dr. Jong's interests outside of medicine are golf, skiing and his family which includes his wife, 3 children and 3 grandchildren.
